Pioneer Pro Audio introduces new XY-3B and XY-2 speakers

Pioneer Pro Audio has introduced two new speakers designed for fixed installations and full touring solutions for rental and festival use. The announcement comes just a month before the brand is set to showcase new products inside the returning PA Experience at BPM | PRO 2017.

Both part of Pioneer’s XY Series of versatile PA/monitor speakers, the XY-3B three-way full-range and XY-2 mid-high speakers have been designed to deliver natural audio at the high SPL (sound pressure level) required for large venues and outdoor events.

It’s taken three years to develop the XY-3B, with 3D printers used to help realise a speaker that creates natural sound with high output. Pioneer has tested the XY-3B at numerous international festivals and outdoor events, allegedly receiving “enthusiastic feedback every time.”

Key features of the XY-3B include a moulded bi-horn that provides natural sound with high SPL; an X-Phase system with gold X-Phase plug; and hybrid low-mid section. The speaker also comes rigging- and tour-ready.

The XY-2 speaker is the mid-high section of the XY-3B. It’s been designed specifically for large-scale venues and big stadiums, so users can utilise it for PA applications, as a DJ booth monitor, or as a down-fill in an XY-3B cluster setting. The XY-2 also comes with a yoke installed as standard.

The XY-3B will be available from mid-October, while the XY-2 will be released in December. More information is available from the Pioneer Pro Audio website.
